Sadhbh Lawlor is an artist who hails from Wexford but grew up in Kildare. She attended Ballyfermot College of Further Education where she earned a Higher National Diploma in Fibre Art.
Since then she has maintained a steady work practice that has grown to encompass drawing, painting, felt work, sculpture, knitting, embroidery, design and mixed media all fuelled by a steady stream of private commission work. She has also produced and sold work at various markets, including The Crafty Market, Blackrock Market, and The Enniscorthy Street Rhythms Festival where she also exhibited.
In recent years Sadhbh has decided to dial back on the private commission work in order to develop more personal projects for future exhibition. She created Splitting Borders with Gareth Gowran in April 2013, a daily webcomic where just about anything goes. They write it together and Sadhbh is challenging herself to draw some of the strips which constitute a new visual language for her. In August they DIY published the first 50 strips into Splitting Borders Volumes One and Two.
